Who we are

Third Eye Media is a South African production company with teams in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and the Eastern Cape, providing campaign content production (photography, video, graphic design and animation) and event media production (photography, film, multi-camera production and live streaming). These terms apply to every quote we send and every booking made with us.

Quotes and recommendations

An enquiry through this website is not a booking. We reply with a recommendation and, where it fits, a written quote setting out the scope, the dates, the deliverables and the price. A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. Prices on this website are the starting prices of each package and are subject to the written quote.

Booking and retainers

A booking is confirmed when the retainer of 70% of the quoted fee has been paid. Until then the date is held for 48 hours from the quote and nothing is charged. The remaining 30% is due seven days before the production or event date; if it has not been paid by then, we may treat the booking as postponed. Monthly and annual partnerships are invoiced as their agreements set out, with an initial commitment period stated in the agreement.

Dates, access and rescheduling

You are responsible for access to the venue or location, for any permissions needed to film or photograph there, and for the people who need to be available on the day. If a confirmed date has to move, tell us as early as you can; we will reschedule where our calendar allows. A postponed booking’s retainer converts to a credit valid for six months against a new date. A date moved with less than five working days’ notice may attract a rescheduling fee set out in the quote.

Cancellation

If you cancel a confirmed booking, the retainer is not refunded, because it secured a date we could not sell to anyone else. If we have to cancel, for illness or circumstances beyond our control, we will offer another date first, and refund the retainer in full if no date works.

Delivery

Each package states its delivery turnaround; the turnaround runs from the day of the production or event. Deliverables are supplied as digital files through a download link that stays live for 30 days. Please download and keep your own copy; we keep an archive as a courtesy, not as a guarantee.

Revisions

Edited deliverables include one round of reasonable revisions within the scope of the quote. Changes to the brief after the production, or additional versions, are quoted separately.

Usage rights

Once the fee is paid in full, you may use the delivered photographs, films and designs for your organisation’s own communications and marketing, in any medium, without time limit. Third Eye Media keeps the copyright and may show the work in its own portfolio and marketing unless you ask us in writing not to. Raw footage and unedited photographs are not included unless the quote says so. Music, stock material and fonts licensed for a specific piece stay within that licence.

Gifts, vouchers and promotions

A production credit or voucher can be applied to one booking of the offer it names, must be claimed and booked within the period stated with it, and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred without our agreement.

Liability

We take care with every production: briefed crews, backup equipment and backed-up files. If something goes wrong with a deliverable, our liability is limited to re-shooting or re-editing where possible, or refunding the fees paid for the affected part of the work. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
